About Woolshops
A unique name in shopping
By the 15th Century, Halifax had become a thriving textile town especially known for ‘kersey’. Unfortunately locally grown wool was too coarse for the yarn needed to weave it. A trade emerged with local wools sold on to areas making stouter, rougher cloths, and Calderdale weavers buying the wool they needed from dealers in Halifax. Woolshops was the area of the town where this trade took place.
As well as top named stores and local shops, all at ground level, the Woolshops Shopping Centre offers:
Direct access car parking for over 300 vehicles with disabled spaces (FREE parking on Sundays and Bank Holidays). Lift to lower car park level. Cycle bays. Cash points. Café.
Shopmobility located within Halifax town centre, Tel: 01422 344040.
