From out of nowhere!

Zumba Flashmob coreates a storm at The Woolshops

T seemed like an ordinary afternoon in Halifax town centre - until a Zumba flashmob hit! From out of nowhere, around 30 fans of the fitness craze launched into a 15-minute routine in the middle of the Woolshops Shopping Centre on Saturday.

Amazed shoppers soon formed crowds, all keen to see the spectacle and with some taking photos and video on their mobile phones. The flashmob was organised by Mandy Kennedy, who runs Zumba Fitness classes at Lee Mount Club and Park Lane Sports Centre, both Halifax. She said it was suggested to her by one of the women who attend her classes and she thought it would be a good way to let people know a bit more about Zumba.

Angela Whiley from the Woolshops said the team there were pleased to have been part of such an exciting event that also promoted exercise and fitness. “We were excited about it from the start, we thought it was an excellent idea,” she said.
