A Win for The Woolshops!

The prestigious Yorkshire in Bloom awards were revealed this week and Halifax came up trumps with The Woolshops Shopping Centre winning gold for the third year in a row!

The prestigious Yorkshire in Bloom awards were revealed this week and Halifax came up trumps with The Woolshops Shopping Centre winning gold for the third year in a row!

The Woolshops Shopping Centre in Halifax is celebrating yet another victory through winning best in the category of shopping centres and retail parks – beating local competitor, The White Rose Centre.

The Woolshops is particularly pleased with this win as the Yorkshire In Bloom awards represent not only the fabulous floral displays but also acknowledges the centre’s attention to recycling initiatives and community involvement schemes. This is something they have spent considerable time and energy on developing and hope to build upon in the future with the recent launch of their community grant scheme. The scheme offers funds of up to £500 to community and voluntary groups in the Halifax and Calderdale areas.

Jason Gregg, Woolshops Centre Manager, said "We are delighted to have received a Gold award from Yorkshire in Bloom again and to have once more come top in our category.”

He continues “I would like to thank all my staff for the effort they put in; keeping the centre in immaculate condition and I am also grateful to our main contractor, Calderdale Council, for the work on our planters, hanging baskets and landscaped areas."
