The prestigious Yorkshire in Bloom awards were revealed this week and Halifax came up trumps with The Woolshops Shopping Centre winning gold for the third year in a row!

The prestigious Yorkshire in Bloom awards were revealed this week and Halifax came up trumps with The Woolshops Shopping Centre winning gold for the third year in a row!

The Woolshops Shopping Centre in Halifax is celebrating yet another victory through winning best in the category of shopping centres and retail parks – beating the likes of Meadowhall and The White Rose Centre.

But the celebrations dont stop there, with the Yorkshire In Bloom awards representing not only the fabulous floral displays but also acknowledging the centres attention to recycling initiatives and community involvement schemes. This is something they have spent considerable time and energy on developing and hope to build upon in the future.

The center is proud to be a contributor of the whole town’s success and its ambition to bring a better shopping experience to Halifax Town Centre. Halifax winning top in the category for ‘best large town’ further compounds this fantastic result for The Woolshops Shopping Centre.

Jason Gregg, Woolshops Centre Manager, said "We are delighted to have received a Gold award from Yorkshire in Bloom for the third consecutive year and to have once more come top in our category.”

He continues “I would like to thank all my staff for the effort they put in; keeping the centre in immaculate condition and I am also grateful to our main contractor, Calderdale Council, for the work on our planters, hanging baskets and landscaped areas."
