STAFF AT Specsavers Halifax have donned their fanciest oven gloves this week for a creative bakes sale to help support Comic Relief’s Red Nose Day 2019.
Truly getting into the Red Nose Day spirit, the team dressed in bright red for the day before going head to head for a very competitive bake off. From funky flapjacks to a huge red-‘nose’-velvet cake, there were certainly some creative concoctions!
In total, customers and staff raised £60 through the sale of the cakes. The amount raised on the day went into the store’s Comic Relief pot, which already had hundreds of pounds donated through the sale of Red Nose Day glasses.
Specsavers Halifax Store Manager, Sharron Manning, comments: ‘Specsavers has long been a champion of Comic Relief, and it’s certainly a very significant part of the year when it comes to our fundraising efforts in Halifax. The staff can’t wait for it to come round every year!
‘It was great to see just how creative the staff’s baking efforts were and they must have been tasty too given how generous customers were with donations for the bake sale! Overall however, our winners were Jayne, Josh and Lucy. Their treats were a firm favourite of customers and staff alike!’
